Liberals Again Prove To Be What They Claimed The Tea Partiers Were

On the heels of union thugs tearing up recall petitions in Wisconsin chanting “this is what democracy looks like” while the police stand idly by, we have Democratic officials in Michigan being charged with felonies for forging election paperwork to get fake Tea Party candidates on November’s ballot. 

This is what trying to steal an election looks like, not democracy.

These were not low-level random folks who happened to be loosely associated with the Democratic party.  They are (former now, current then) Oakland County Democratic Chair Mike McGuinness and former Democratic Operations Director Jason Bauer.

Unfortunately, there are a fair number of liberals who don’t like democracy.  That’s because they don’t like people who disagree with them, and think they are inherently impervious to reason, stupid, uneducated, and/or racist louts who cannot be trusted with selecting our government.  That must be left to their union-favoring, NPR-listening, arugula-eating betters.

That is why you have NYT columnists extolling the virtues of one-party autocracy in China who “can just impose the politically difficult but critically important policies needed to move a society forward in the 21st century” (while barring any discussion and crushing any dissent about what it might mean to move forward in the 21st century).  And it is why you have Democrats around the country fleeing their states so elected Republican majorities cannot enact the agenda they were elected to enact.  You see, liberals just know how to move a society forward in the 21st century, and nothing — certainly not voters, and generally not the abject failure of liberals’ past efforts — should be allowed to stand in their way.

The Democrats, dominated by public employee unions, Hollywood, trial lawyers, and their own sense of superiority, just don’t like us.  Sure, they want to provide for us, tell us what to eat, where to go to school, what health care we can/must have, what to drive, where to live, how to get between there and work, and what will be done with our money.  All in the name of our own good, mind you.  They want us to be happy, ore or less, so long as we toe the line, do their bidding, and generate money they can use for more things they think are good for us.  Or at least good for their chosen ones.  But they don’t really like or respect us.

UPDATE: Ed Morrissey points out something I missed: “Fox notes that the grand jury continues to probe this even after the indictments against the two Oakland County Democratic Party leaders, which might mean more indictments will be forthcoming.”  Should be interesting to see if the first to get charged roll on others.
