New Video Fuels The NPR De-Funding Fire

Via Hot Air, Ron Schiller, an NPR senior executive, is caught smearing tea partiers, conservatives, and the Republican Party on video.  According to the NPR website, Schiller is President of the NPR Foundation and NPR’s Senior Vice President, Development.

Basically, James O’Keefe did a sting on Schiller and Betsy Liley, NPR’s director of institutional giving, by arranging a meeting with two guys posing as members of a fictitious Muslim Education Action Center Trust that is working to advance Sharia law in the U.S.  They met with Schiller and Liley to discuss contributing up to $5 million to NPR.

Schiller takes about 30 seconds on tape before laying into uneducated, xenophobic, racist, anti-intellectual tea partiers and conservatives.  Oh, and Schiller seems to have no problem with his potential donors’ suggestion that  “Jews do kind of control the media. . . .”  To his credit, he turns the discussion (eventually) to a discussion of balance and fairness, but it is pretty clear such talk is not particularly bothersome.

Pres. Obama and Rev. Wright would be proud.

Schiller is perfectly entitled to his opinions.  But he is not entitled to my money.  If liberals want to fund NPR/PBS/CPR, that is their prerogative.  But let’s make them do without any money from the gun-toting right half of the population for which its senior executives clearly have nothing but disdain.

Three words — Kill the funding.
