The Brave Wisconsin Democrats Bravely Ran Away

Trying to avoid a vote on Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s reform package, which limits eliminates certain collective bargaining rights for public employees and makes public workers pay half the costs of their pensions and at least 12.6 percent of their health care coverage, Wisconsin’s Senate Democrats fled the state.  Seriously:

Wisconsin state Democrats who refused to show up for a vote on Governor Walker’s budget repair bill have been located.

The lawmakers are in Rockford, Illinois at the Best Western Clock Tower Resort.

Law enforcement officials have been looking for at least one Democratic senator to bring in for a quorum required for a fiscal measure, but Democratic Senator Jon Erpenbach confirmed to Newsradio 620 WTMJ that he and all of his Democratic colleagues boarded a bus and left the state.

They care about the unions far more than the rest of the people of Wisconsin and their economic well-being.  So they are trying to out-shout the opposition and overrule the election that swept Republican reformers into office just a few months ago.

Meanwhile, the union thugs are skipping work, protesting at lawmakers’ homes, and, shall we say, appear to be somewhat ambivalent about the Democrats’ recent call for civility in political discourse.

UPDATE: Cross-hairs on the Governor’s face.  I will patiently await the media outrage about such violent imagery.  Still waiting. . . .
