Man Up, Mr. President

I was listening to Rahm Emanuel’s speech resigning as Obama’s chief of staff, and once again heard this kind of garbage:  Obama is “the toughest leader any country could ask for, in the toughest times any president has ever faced.”  Really?

  • Tougher than the recession and 9/11 attacks that Bush faced?
  • Tougher than the hostage crisis, gas lines, and inflation that Reagan faced?
  • Tougher than the World War II and Korean conflict that Truman faced?
  • Tougher than the Cuban Missile Crisis that JFK faced?
  • Tougher than the freaking civil war that Lincoln faced?

Mr. President, you asked for this job.  And there is no question that the job is pretty hard.  But the fact is, you just aren’t very good at it.
